Lockdown Self-Portrait, 2020 (taken on iPhone in Carlton apartment)
Established in July 2011, Lilly Pilly Arts became the name that has taken Melbourne’s nightlife of documentary photography to new heights. Coming close to 10 years in capturing events and small businesses, Tjanatja, is starting to dip her toes into the realms of Communication/ Graphic Design.
With a background in visual arts, Tjanatja completed her Certificate IV in Design at Northern College of Arts & Technology (NCAT) in 2020 with a vision to expand and combine her creative talents into a new path. In 2006, Tjanatja had completed two 6-week short courses on Photography through the Centre of Contemporary Photography (CCP) in Fitzroy with Open House Family and Rotary Youth Arts Project, which had introduced her to the world of photography and documenting moments in time. Both courses ended with group exhibitions featured at the Hosier Lane, City Lights and at the Centre of Contemporary Photography which gave her the inspiration and encouragement needed to explore her creativity further throughout her life.
